| Tiivistelmä: | The term "multimedia" has been known in the computer world for some three years. But people need to learn how it should be deployed and utilized. Multimedia describes the interplay of various types of data such as text, sound, graphics, photographs and video. What is new is the fact that it is now largely interactive and controlled by the personal computer. Different groups of multimedia users are considered. The role of multimedia in education is highlighted. The costs of application are analyzed. Some technical details are discussed. |
