| Tiivistelmä: | The CANREM simulation model is outlined; the main components (energy demand, power generation and finances) of the model and their interrelationships are described. The applicability of the model is illustrated by reporting the results of two simulations based on the 1989 Hydro-Quebec development plan. Using the same assumptions as the plan, the CANREM model arrives at an average annual growth in electricity demand of 2.3 p.c. over the simulation period of 1989-2010. This compares with Hydro-Qebec's forecast of 1.9 p.c. This translates by 2010 into an increased demand of 18 TWh or 8.8. p.c. more than forecasted. |
