| Tiivistelmä: | This paper contributes to the theory of industry structure with fluctuating demand, which was applied to US output and employment data by Mills and Schumann (1985). The paper extends the theoretical model and applies it to a unique set of German panel data of individual firms explaining fluctuations in employment and capacity utilization. This contributes to the generally underinvestigated demand side of employment behavior. |
