Tiivistelmä: | According to the latest Census Bureau estimates, the United States (U.S.) has a population of 300 million out of which 47 million, including many non-citizens, are not insured. That is, 16 percent of the total U.S. population has no health insurance. The current U.S. system is based on private, corporatized medical coverage, structured by the insurance industry. This article aims at laying out the principal health care issues, at dealing with the alternatives with their costs, and at trying to determine whether there is a particular regime that would currently be the best available. |
