| Tiivistelmä: | This paper concentrates on hedge funds that are still seen as a somewhat mysterious part of investment industry. In general, hedge funds have grown rapidly. It is pointed out that funds of hedge funds are not alternatives that help to avoid turbulent investment times. In addition, they cannot guarantee even-higher returns. Finally, the study predicts that the role of hedge funds is changing because of academic research, commercial innovations, and the polarization in the fund sector. |
