| Tiivistelmä: | In the period from 1996 to 1997, further improvement had been made in the balance between total supply and total demand, revenue and expenditure were basically balanced and the pace of optimizing the structure of primary, secondary and tertiary industries were quickened. According to the forecast of some mojor economic indicators of Jiangsu province from 1998 to 2000, its annual growth rate of GDP will reach 12%, its average annual growth rate of investment in fixed assets will stand at 18% to 20%. The growth rate of the whole province's GDP will be kept at 11.5% in 1998, 12% in 1999 and 12.5% in 2000 respectively. Price will go down but still possibly rise again. The increase margin of export of foreign trade may reach 16% or so. The employment situation will still be grim. The actual annual growth rate of resident's income will be 5%. |
