| Tiivistelmä: | In spite of their problems, committees are too ubiquitous to ignore. Managers must, therefore, solve the committee dilemma by learning to overcome their problems and benefit from their advantages. Chances of successes are improved by following certain strategic steps. The first step is to define clearly the committee mandate. The second step is knowing what type of committee the mandate requires and treating accordingly. Finally, managers must learn how to use effectively the decision-making type of committee. Understanding the steps of the decision-making process will go a long way toward improving the productivity of committees by preventing many of the most common problems. |
