| Tiivistelmä: | It is shown how and to what extent our environment is endangered by a continuous loading with hazardous materials. One of the main sources of these materials is today's production. The most important requirements which companies should meet concerning environmental protection are summarized. Arguments are presented that logistics strategy can be a powerful instrument against pollution. The role of waste management, recycling and some other methods are examined. A global approach to the problem is suggested. Some planning methods are mentioned. The responsibility of managers, R&D professionals and consumers is emphasized. |
