| Tiivistelmä: | The Network Sourcing Model has been designed to capture the leading edge buyer-supplier relationship as presently exhibited in the Japanese automotive industry. However, several observers expressed two reservations about the model. These were whether it could work outside the automotive industry and whether it could work in a recession. This paper addresses these key issues. The past research limitations are the first focus of this paper. The other major problem in emulating the Japanese approach to purchasing is that the system has been formulated and implemented over the last three decades of almost continuous growth. |
