| Tiivistelmä: | This paper considers the impact of quantity discounts on channel coordination in systems consisting of one vendor and one buyer, and of one buyer and a group of heterogeneous buyers. The paper focuses on the determination of quantity discounts. We analyze the coordination of price and purchase decisions when the vendor supplies one buyer and a group of heterogeneous buyers. It is shown that both can improve their efficiency and thus assure the competitive strength of the logistical chain. |
