| Tiivistelmä: | Using a monographic analysis of French small companies in the road transport sector, the adaptation strategies developed by small firms in the radically changing environment are examined. The opportunities provided by different inter-company strategies and notably those offered by the creation of "hypo-firms" which generate significant economies of scale are stressed. It is also illustrated how logistical learning becomes a vital strategic manoeuvre to ensure longevity by enabling the small company to apply a veritable differentiation policy. In the policy to be pursued by the small enterprises of transport flexibility is a major advantage against large transporters. |
