| Tiivistelmä: | The potential benefits of flexible manufacturing systems, complicated modules of computer-integrated production, can have a reverse effect if someone is not prepared to follow the experience-based, proven solutions. Ten possible sources of error are identified: the illusion of a mighty jump; planning without a full application of logistics; neglecting the interfaces; the shortage of qualified manpower; using software which is not flexible enough. All the listed sources of failure are thoroughly examined and a number of measures are recommended to keep the system away from them. |
