| Tiivistelmä: | This paper uses data from the Finnish reform to distinguish between human capital and signaling theories of the value of education. It is found that the reform increased the earnings of polytechnic graduates compared with those graduating from the same schools before the reform, as predicted by both the human capital and the signaling models. However, it is also found that the relative earnings of vocational college graduates decreases after polytechnic graduates star entering the labour market. |
