| Tiivistelmä: | Documents ranging from advertisements to policy statements do not have to be either sexist or clumsily antisexsist. There is a middle ground of neutral writing which avoids sex bias, and communicates without giving offence. This article analyses the problem and suggests practical ways for management to develop gender-free style, starting with the most critical documents. The article recommends to use the plural, to talk directly, to refer to objects, not people, to use the word "their" for singular etc. |
