| Tiivistelmä: | This paper tests a conceptual alternative to incremental explanations of multinational profitability, positing that country-specific and industry-specific variables have a predictive power similar to that of past profitability, the lagged dependent (the incremental) variable, found in previous studies. Country-specific, industry-specific and interactive variables were found to be significantly related to cross-national differences in MNC profitability while past profitability was not. |
