| Tiivistelmä: | The realization of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) is a long-term process and must be made with great care. The detailed investigation is a matter of prime importance. Some important guidelines for the observation of the initial situation, the detection of the open and hidden problems as well as the problem-solving tools are provided. A network-based planning methodology is offered. The role of team work in the project development and implementation is highlighted. The problems of goal setting in relation to rationalization and some indicators of improvement of effectiveness are considered. The question of profitability is also addressed. |
