| Tiivistelmä: | Managers and even entire organizations need to think in terms of information systems if they wish to keep abreast of internal and external developments, create effective business strategies, and carry them out effectively. Such systems can be created to provide accurate and timely information for virtually every department or division in an organization. The benefits of an effective management information system (MIS) are summarized. Its major functional areas are described according to the following management functions: strategic management, financial management, sales and marketing, human resources, production, materials management, administrative services. Each of them is subdivided into a number of functional units. |
