Tiivistelmä:The nature of the organizational information technology adoption process is not entirely clear. The authors investigate the radio frequency identification (hereafter as RFID) adoption decision process in order to develop a model predicting the likelihood of adopting RFID within organizations in the healthcare industry. They concentrate on the underlying motivations and driving forces behind the adoption of RFID. The new adoption model is empirically tested by a survey with a sample of 126 senior executives in US hospitals. According to the survey technology push, need pull and presence of champions are the three categories of factors that influence the likelihood of adopting RFID within organization.
