| Tiivistelmä: | The author of the article answers the question how seriously institutional shareholders are taking corporate social responsibility and whether it is mere tokenism. The author states that it is to be free of the corrosive influence of the word 'leadership' as it is applied to the study of management and business organisations. The author states the modern obsession with leadership has led us down a blind alley. It has had a corrosive effect on the development of dynamic, far-sighted managers who are capable of heading large organisations. What is more, leadership tends to focus attention on those at the top, making it remote from the daily activities of most managers. |
