| Tiivistelmä: | Using longitudinal data, this study empirically examines the long-term export behaviour of German and British technology-oriented firms founded btw. 1987 and 1996. Applying logit models, firms are shown to be able to overcome high entry costs by acquiring firm-specific (herein as: f-s.) assets. Similarly, f-s. resources prevent high-tech companies from exiting the international market. The data especially highlights the strategic role of R&D investments. |
