| Tiivistelmä: | Between August 1990 and January 1991, 60 expatriates in Saudi Arabia were surveyed asking them about their experiences, both in general and under the stress of the Persian Gulf crisis. Conducting business during such a crisis provided valuable - albeit undesired - learning opportunities that ultimately resulted in personal and professional growth.The reasons for accepting assignments in Saudi Arabia are examined The most important drawbacks to working there are also discussed. the career development aspects of expatriate assignments are highlighted. The gains for a multinational company include having managers experienced in working in diverse cultures and crisis situations important to successful competition in the global environment. |
