Tiivistelmä:In the project "Hidden economy in Slovenia" the scope of hidden economy in relation to the recorded GDP has been estimated by two methods. For the macroeconomic estimation the labour force participation rate has been applied, at the same time partial estimations have been made by economic sectors and by types of hidden incomes. The number of potential participants in hidden activities has been increasing and it reached 451.000 persons in 1993. However, out of these according to the author's estimation some 239.000 persons (or 26% of the active population) actively participated in hidden activities; converted into the number of those fully employed we come to the figure of 80.000 persons (or 9.6% of the labour force).Hidden incomes from work amounted to about 143 millions SIT or 10% of the recorded GDP in 1993.Additionally, hidden incomes from property and capital are estimated as 7 to 11% of the recorded GDP.Alltogether the scope of hidden economy (unreporeted incomes) might represent 17 to 21% of the recorded GDP in Slovenia in 1993.On the basis of different estimates and comparisons 9.5% of these have already been included into the recorded GDP, thus leaving about 7 to 11% of GDP statistically unrecorded.
