Japan's summer of 1992 was the rainiest in years. Beach resorts were nearly empty and the rice crop flopped. For Yasuaki Takano, there was another concern: the usually cold weather meant no one wanted to buy his air conditioners. Takano was then a vice-president of troubled electronics maker Sanyo. |
