| Tiivistelmä: | Whoever leads China after the patriarch dies, now is the time for bold initiatives to solve the longer-term issues that most threaten China's economic health. Instead, they'll stand the course: protecting state enterprises , easing inflation and hoping the non-state sector will grow away their worries. They might succeed, assuming their plans aren't scuppered by a paradox of their own creation: strident nationalism serves the leadership's domestic agenda, but might frighten away the $100 million a day in foreign investment that keeps China's economy humming. |
