| Tiivistelmä: | As developing countries approach the millennium, they will need to develop strategies for participation in a series of important trade negotiations under the auspices of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Negotiations on the further liberalization of trade in agriculture and services are scheduled to start in 1999-2000. The purpose of this article is threefold: 1) to identify and analyze the issues that are likely to be considered for inclusion in future multilateral trade negotiations under the auspices of the WTO; 2) to explore the interests of different groups of developing countries in each of these issues; and 3) to suggest strategies whose end-objective would be to further the integration of developing countries into the multilateral trading system. |
