| Tiivistelmä: | This article reviews the negotiations in the Uruguay Round and subsequently in the World Trade Organization (WTO) on investment issues, with the objective of drawing "lessons" which would be relevant for future consideration of this issue in the WTO. The first part of the article provides historical background by examining the major steps in the negotiations of the Trade-Related Investment Measures (TRIMs) and General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) Agreements in chronological order. |
