| Tiivistelmä: | This article investigates the effects of knowledge barriers (KBs) and supply-side institutions (SSIs) on the timing of adoption of the World Wide Web (WWW) technology. The results confirm the major hypothesis: KBs delay adoption time and indicate the significant explanatory power that the learning perspective can add to the traditional adoption model. The findings explain why certain firms delay the adoption of potentially profitable innovations, imply suitable diffusion strategies for firms promoting innovations, and provide information on the adoption of WWW technology. |
