Tiivistelmä:In this paper, the authors develop basic strategic options for the financial news industry. In Germany, financial news companies have been hit hard by declining newsstand and advertisement revenues. After analysing the market structure, the authors argue that companies have to increase their operational flexibility to cope with changing demand conditions. Product development of niche players has to focus on a long-term, stable interest of potential readers and not on current sales in the advertisement market. The author provides a substantial list of references on this subject.
