| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of this article is to present a classification of approaches toward knowledge claim evaluation (here as: KCE) and to position it as a fundamental research issue for knowledge management (here as: k.m.). The findings suggest that KCE is a neglected process in k.m. theories. The conceptual underpinnings of KCE in k.m. theories are proven insufficient. Three approaches towards KCE are identified from previous literature. The results show that KCE can be dealt with in various ways, and that an understanding of practical workings, contextual factors and effects of KCE can lead to fruitful advances in k.m. theory and practice. |
