Tiivistelmä:In the last 20 years, the decision-making process in families has changed. Family democracy is clearly in the ascendant. The family is called a decision-making unit in the business research. The focus of this research is on agreement and disagreement within couples concerning 15 vacation sub-decisions. This Dutch longitudinal study collected the data for couples over a period of nearly a year. The main conclusion of this study is that holiday choice has evolved over the last 30 years into being very much a joint decision. Family members discuss, seek information for the discussion and use influencing strategies. The dominant disagreement strategy is the golden mean strategy. The holiday choice is also more of a joint affair compared with other choices.
