| Tiivistelmä: | Until recently the treasury function has been considered as a simple support operation by the banks. Increasing competition and shrinking margins in the traditional bank activities have intensified the search for new fields. An appropriate field was the treasury function, since the fluctuations in interest rates and exchange rates dramatically increased the risk of the banks' clients. As the treasury's role developed so the decisive factors for managing risk efficiently became clearer. |
