| Tiivistelmä: | A risk management approach is used to compare alternative quality control/ reliability schemes and pricing under a given stochastic demand function. A theoretical framework which allows a manufacturer to examine the trade-offs between pricing, reliability, design and quality control issues is aimed to construct. In particular, the effects of risk aversion on the relative prominence of one or the other policy instruments are investigated. In addition, the results of extensive numerical analyses are presented relating basic managerial guidelines with price, reliability and quality control. |
