Tiivistelmä:The role of the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in curbing corruption in the Middle East is discussed. Critics of the FCPA have claimed that it has destabilized friendly regimes, hurts US exports, and constitutes moral imperialism. The impact of the FCPA on 26 Middle Eastern and North African states over the past decade is examined. Several host-country responses to specific FCPA-related scandals are analyzed. Some effects of these on US competitiveness in particular vis-a-vis European and Asian competition are described. Societal system's dynamism, revolutionary forces and tasks of multinational managers are investigated.
