| Tiivistelmä: | That chief executives can be classified according to strength of their commitment to commercial and political goals, is argued. Four types of chief executives are defined: the controversy-minimizer; the commercial-goals-maximizer; the political-goals-maximizer and the social-welfare-maximizer. The likely backgrounds and motivations of each type of chief executives are discussed and their impact on the behaviour and performance of state-owned enterprises explored. |
