Tiivistelmä: | Employee-ownership of a company does not necessarily benefit all classes of employees. Managers may be able to strengthen their power bases and their influence. Non-managers may benefit very little as they may not appreciate the use to which they can put the knowledge which they gain from being employee-owners. A study of an Australian company located in Sydney which became employee-owned revealed discrepancies in benefit. Managerial prerogatives were considered under four heads: distribution of power; access to information; distribution of rewards; and working conditions. Non-managers made the greatest gains in control of staff meetings and in share holdings. Managers made more diverse gains along the prerogatives. |
