| Tiivistelmä: | Management's perception of technological change before and after its introduction and their expectations of new technology reveal problems encountered when introducing a computer-aided design /CAD/ system for the first time. A lack of awareness, its management requirements, inflexible budget control and ad hoc decision making contribute to the problems associated with CAD; others include training and software purchasing. A comparison of British and Japanese management accounting shows significant differences in the approach to strategies for new technology. The key steps in introducing new technology even if identified are often not taken into account by companies introducing CAD, resulting in serious problems. Factors for implementation are outlined. |
