| Tiivistelmä: | In a report by the Engineering Council it was argued that British industry should concentrate on training more chartered and technician engineers for entry into managerial hierarchies. This is in a context of an increasingly competitive business and technological climate where current research suggests the need to develop the appropriate skills to manage the change to, in particular, robotics, FMS and CAD/CAM. British management is criticized for its lack of highly qualified engineers in senior and top management positions. |
