| Tiivistelmä: | New competitive uncertainty and financial sector restraint in providing capital accompanied the USA federal government's withdrawal from the regulation of airline competition. Coping strategies seem to have become a more important part of strategy. By focusing on indirect interlocking and direct competition within an industry, it is possible to make more detailed observations of change phenomena than in most earlier studies of interlocking. Using competitor dyads and individual firms as the units of analysis, longitudinal issues about which there has previously been only conjecture are investigated. The general linear model shows that the relationship between competition and indirect interlocking significantly increased. |
