| Tiivistelmä: | The twin observations of serially correlated output movements and positive comovements in output across sectors of a multisector economy are two important stylized facts that guide macroeconomic researchers. An alternative approach is investigated which stresses linkages across sectors from the demand for consumption goods and the presence of imperfect competition. Dynamic properties of imperfectly competitive economy are contrasted with those of a real business cycle model, with a representative agent. For both economies inventories are the important dynamic linkages. The prediction of these models with regard to the comovement of employment across sectors may differ. |
