| Tiivistelmä: | Relationship between Contingency and Transaction Cost Theory of Organization. Since the 1970s the theoretical foundation of the contingency theory of organization has been discussed. The main critique refers to the insufficient theoretical foundation of the organizational efficiency concept. In this paper, we try to show that the transaction cost theory of organization can offer such an efficiency concept. In addition we show that research results of the contingency approach can be integrated in the transaction cost theory to extend the "core" of theory. |
