| Tiivistelmä: | Established in the spring of 1991 to supervise the transfer of state enterprises to private hands, Lithuania's Central Privatization Commission (CPC) has had a roller coaster history. Some aspects of the voucher program, for which the privatization commission was responsible , were a success. The commission has played an active role in Lithuania's relatively fast pace of privatization. However, the PHARE program has asked the privatization commission to prepare legislation allowing foreign investors more scope in hard currency deals. |
