But whether the much-delayed sale of Hungarian Foreign Trade Bank (MKB) spurs many others to buy in the troubled banking sector is questionable. Also, despite record privatisation sales in 1993, has the appetite of domestic and foreign investors for local companies peaked and will the new socialist-led government be able to stimulate the process? While the privatisation process has definite room for improvement, many of the possibilities may be exhausted. |
