| Tiivistelmä: | A conceptual framework for the analysis of agricultural intervention and their impact on agricultural incentives is described. It is based on the long-term, general equilibrium role of agricultural incentives in the intersectoral allocation of resources. The impact of sectoral policies, and of microeconomic and industrial protection policies on agricultural incentives is examined. Empirical results for a number of Asian and African countries are presented. It is found that most effects differed significantly across the various regions. However, some common effects were found. |
