| Tiivistelmä: | Most of the domestic scholars and the World Bank consider that China's more rational degree of self-sufficiency in grain should be 90% or so, i.e., import of 50-60 million tons. Such a level of self-sufficiency will ensure China's grain safety and at the same time reduce greatly the cost of grain safety. This paper thinks that the studies on the problem of China's grain should focus on how to feed herself at the lowest cost, by the efficient means and with the highest quality and it is unnecessary to have an endless debate over whether China is able to feed herself, which is a problem of unclear definition. |
