| Tiivistelmä: | The authors suggest that hypothesis tests are routinely misinterpreted in scientific research and in this essay they discuss about the limitations of non-informative hypothesis tests and why confidence intervals should be used instead. The authors recommend that scientific publication criteria should focus on the quality of the sampling and research design, the psychometric reliability and validity of the used variables, theoretical or practical importance of the results, and the widths of the confidence intervals. |
