| Tiivistelmä: | It is attempted to identify how the foreign trade zones can be used to reduce the total cost of products that are imported into the United States or exported to foreign markets. The types of products which can benefit the most from using zones for final assembly, product modification and storage are identified. In order to justify the use of a zone,the savings obtained from avoiding,reducing,or postponing the payment of import tariffs must exceed the added paperwork and handling costs. |
