| Tiivistelmä: | The evolution in strategic planning since 1945 is studied. This permits to examine the major developments in managerial thinking and in particular, in regard to guiding a company through complex and uncertain situations. Drawing on the lessons of history, the concept of strategy is analyzed from philoposhical and sociological viewpoint, showing how planning and corporate objectives are areas which touch upon the deepest values of the corporate culture. This analysis does not contradict the more practical approaches to the entrepreneurial function. Various techniques are recommended for confronting an unstable environment. |
