| Tiivistelmä: | The thesis presents new insights into the interrelationship between the classical criteria for investment decisions: the present value criterion, the internal rate of return, and the annuity. It shows that the internal rate of return and the annuity can both be considered as subsidiary objectives to the present value criterion. The result is derived from a set of formulas describing the present value and the other criteria in a way slightly different from the one commonly used. These formulas have not received the necessary attention in the long discussion of classical decision rules. |
