| Tiivistelmä: | A year of disasters, from the events of 11th September 2001, to the financial scandals Enron and WorldCom, and most recently the outrages in Bali and Kenya, has thrown into sharp relief a host of risks that businesses face in their everyday operations. The paper considers the following subjects: 1) FTSE 500 companies believe that risks to their businesses have increased, according to a recent survey; 2) the topic of the Catastrophe: how well the people are prepared. The authors state that the world has changed since 11 September 2001, we are told. The paper answers the questions whether it has really made any difference to the way companies plan for disaster. |
