| Tiivistelmä: | The more difficult economic environment of the 80s has encouraged the spreading of practice of delayed payment. Commercial credit plays an increasing role as a substitute to bank loans, in particular for enterprises in uncertain financial position. The author, who has analyzed a sample of more than 9000 enterprises during the period of 1980-84, explains the reasons of the spectacular growth of the amount of delayed payment, analyzing the changes in real interest rates, the structure of financial resources of firms, using commercial credits and the correlation between indebtedness and the forms of financing. |
